GTU Aeronautical Engineering B.E sem 7 syllabus of all subjects

Aeronautical Engineering B.E sem 7 syllabus

(1) Summer Internship (3170001):

Rationale: students will gain knowledge and also learn practical skills which are resurveyed to get a good job

(2) Aircraft Design (3170101):

Rationale: Aircraft Design is one of the core areas in the field of aviation. The concepts of Aircraft Design are very important in core industry. As aeronautical industries are growing fast across the world because of needs of military and civil aviation applications. A student should be proficient enough to design aircraft and aircraft’s components with structural and aerodynamic considerations.

(3) Theory of Heat Transfer (3170102)

Rationale: In any area of industrial applications, heat is transferred from one substance to anothersubstance because of temperature difference. As an Aeronautical Engineer, students should knowin which parts of an aircraft the temperature difference occur and by which means. It also helps to understand the thermal stresses developed on the body or element.

(4) Rocket and Missile Technology (3170104):

Rationale: Rocket Missile Technology is one of the core areas in the field of aviation as well as Space. The concepts of Rocket Missile Technology are vitally important to the aeronautical engineer.

(5) Aircraft Control and Navigation (3170108):

Rationale: Aircraft control and navigation is one of the core areas in the field of aviation. The concepts of aircraft control and navigation are vitally important to the aeronautical engineer.

(6) Advance Computational Fluid Dynamics (3170109):

Rationale: This is course in ACFD. In this course, students will be exposed to basics and advance of CFD. Students will gain knowledge on FD/ FV/Turbulence model strategy, formulation of the problem and solution techniques.

(7) Introduction to Aero Elasticity (3170110):

Rationale: Aeroelasticity is the study of the interactions between the elasto dynamics of a flexible lifting surface with the dynamics of the fluid flow over it. The issues that are of concern in this study include stability of the aeroelastic system, its static and dynamic response, and controlling these aeroelastic instabilities and response.

(8) Aircraft General Engineering and Maintenance Practices (3170111):

Rationale: This course provides a basic maintenance procedure to service systems and ground handling of any aircraft. It also gives the brief knowledge of certificate, Data Sheets and ATA specifications

(9) Experimental Techniques (3170112):

Rationale: The course is designed to provide the fundamental knowledge of experimentation techniques, related instruments used for thermal engineering applications and fluid mechanics.

(10) Helicopter Engineering (3170113):

Rationale: Helicopters are widely used in civil and military aviation sectors nowadays for utility, surveillance, air lift- rescue, attack, agriculture, recreational purposes. This course imparts fundamental knowledge regarding principles, operation and helicopter flight mechanics.

(11) Space Flight Mechanics (3170114):

Rationale: Exposure to basic aspects of Space Flight would be an advantage to the students of aeronautical engineering who want to pursue their further studies or career in the field of aerospace.

(12) Introduction to IPR (3170115):

Rationale: This course is designed to give fundamental aspects of intellectual property systems to the students who are going to play major role in development of innovative industries.

(13) Solar and Wind energy (3170116):

Rationale: The course is designed to give knowledge of various renewable energy sources, systems and applications in the present context and need.

(14) Finite Element Methods (3171920):

Rationale: The course aims to impart basic skills of formulation and application of finite element methods for the analysis of mechanical systems.

(15) Industrial Internet of Things (3171930):

Rationale: IoT will change industries and transform the way we work and live. Industrial companies are already pivoting from Products to Services leveraging IoT technologies – this digital transformation is more broadly called the Industrial IoT or Industrial Internet. The objective of this subject is make students aware about this latest technology, its application and to identify future scope for better manufacturing system.
